Mammoth Hot Springs Yellowstone

Sitting just southwest of the North Entrance in Mammot Country, the Mammot Hot Springs are one of the park's more unusual attractions. Known for its terraces formed over centuries of hot water bubbling up from the ground, cooling and depositing calcium carbonate.
Mammot Hot Springs' stone-like formations are often described as natural sculpture. As you explore, keep an eye out for elk grazing near the edge of the springs before terrace-hopping along many boardwalks down toward the bottom. Also avoid direct contact with the water, which can easily cause burns.

If you're interested in Yellowstone history, head over to the Albright Visitor Center & Museum, which features displays on the park's natural and cultural history as well as modern shows showcasing the Northern Range of the park's (like nothing else in the world) organized row of wildlife.

Though the Albright Visitor Center usually stays open year-round, it's currently going through renovations; the center is guessed (a number) to be complete in spring 2015; however, an (only lasting for a short time) visitor center will remain open while work is completed.
