Rome Destinations: Visit Capitoline Museum

Who doesn't know abut Italian? And who doesn't know about Rome? if you don't know yet so all you have to do is open your PC and search in google about italian country. 


I believe this is the great place to visit in Italy, Europe. If you are looking for ancient sculptures this is a great place to go, Capitone Museum. So let's get started our journey to this Capitone Museum in Italy.


Capitoline Museum was built in mid seventeenth century that was designed by Michelangelo to complete the Conservators Palace. This place finally open for public in 1734 that offers two floors of ancient Roman artifacts include statues, sarcophagi and mosaic.


Some important sculptures also can be seen in this Capitoline Museum. The most famous is probably Dying Gaul or Dying Galatians, sculpture that found in the garden of Caesar. There is also sculpture about Suicide of Galata which now is in Altemps Palace. Another famous sculpture in New Castle is well preserved in the Capitoline Venus.

In the middle of Faun Hall of capitoline museum
there is marble statue of drunken Faun from the second century. In the great hall which Is the largest room of New palace, there are some interesting sculptures include two centaur statues that found at hadrian’s Villa in Tivoli. Both of two Centaur statues are know as the Old centaur and young centaur. In the same villa there is Doves Mosaic, a beautiful mosaic for the second century. There are hug collection of antique statues that display in the Emperor Hall and Philosophers Hall.
