Time to post about Bali today, so i decided to choose Garuda Wishnu Kencana (GWK). Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue or GWK and its pedestal building will be standing 150 meters tall with its wings span 64 meters across. Area Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is located at an altitude of 146 meters above ground level or 263 feet above sea level. This statue will once completed will be the world's biggest statue with a height of 75 meters and width of 60 meters and will beat the statue of liberty.
This statue is Designed and built by Nyoman Nuarta, one of Indonesia’s foremost modern sculptor . It made from more than 4000 tons of copper and brass, the statue is picturing Lord Wisnu, as the source of wisdom, riding on the back of the mythical bird Garuda as the manifestation of conscience toward Amerta, the perennial goodness. At present time, the statue of Wisnu, the statue of Garuda, and the hands of Wisnu have been placed temporarily in three different plazas within the park.

Limestone pillars colossal and monumental Garuda statue make Lotus Pond a very exotic space. With a capacity of space that can accommodate up to 7000 people, Lotus Pond has gained a good reputation as a perfect place to hold big and international events.
GWK become one of the main purposes for various art performances, exhibitions and conferences or a relaxing visit even spiritual visit. The statue is the work of renowned sculptor Bali, I Nyoman Nuarta. It was developed as a park monument of culture and became an icon for tourism Bali and Indonesia.
How do we get there
From the Ngurah Rai Airport we can use a taxi, bus or another vehicles. When using taxi its cost around 65000 rupiah to 75000 rupiah. Usually you can use the official airport taxi buy a taxi ticket at the counter official opening last night until the plane at the gate on the right side coming out. We just pay the taxi ticket counter and not the taxi driver. But you can give tips to the taxi driver then.
When you arrive at the International Arrivals Terminal no taxi counter there, you can wait for a taxi at the arrival gate. When there is no taxi, there are a taxi "omprengan" (black plate) but try to bargain first until get a good prices. Usually this "omprengan" taxi usually not too ask high tariffs. Official Taxi Counter great at appropriate tariffs with much travel, Kuta-Legian for Rp 50,000, Rp Jimbaran. 65,000, 55,000 Nusa Dua, Denpasar Rp. 70,000. Kuta is a tourist spot closest to the airport in just 15 minutes. My advice if this is your first arrival to Bali Kuta should you head first and find accommodation there.
